I made Grilled Steak with Pepper Relish because it sounded good. I like steak and bell peppers. Why not try it?
I had half of the beef but made all of the peppers. I used fresh thyme in this recipe. I put both the beef and the packet of peppers under the broiler, rather than making it on the grill.
This was okay. The seasoning on the beef was nothing special. I wasn’t as big a fan of the pepper relish as I had hoped I would be. I don’t like relish in general, so perhaps it’s not surprising that I didn’t like this that much. I also think that when I have bell peppers and beef, I expect fajitas. I like capers and balsamic vinegar, but I don’t think they enhanced this dish; I felt like the relish ingredients didn’t meld together like I expected they would. Alex enjoyed this a little above average – he said it was “solid plus.”
I won’t make it again, but I think it’s a recipe that other people might like. Feel free to give it a try.
